If you’re not aware that you’re devoid of the virtues, this is a downward slope towards impiety. Because those who’ve become accustomed to the pleasures of the flesh and who ignore the voice of God will end up refusing to be moved and will prefer the pleasures of the flesh to God. They’ll think these pleasures are more important than God’s will.
